Headlined by celebrity chef Stephanie Izard, UCP’s 2011 Great Chefs Tasting Party reached a record $175,000 in contributions for programs serving children and adults with disabilities.
Izard, 2008 winner of Bravo TV’s Top Chef competition, recruited 2007 finalist Dale Levitski to co-host a VIP reception and cooking demonstration for the evening’s premium ticket holders.
New this year, a live auction stirred heated bidding for items such as a private dinner prepared by Izard and a chance to check out trend-setting Chicago restaurants with honorary event chair Steve Dolinsky, ABC7’s “Hungry Hound.”
During the main event, more than 45 of Chicago’s leading chefs presented their signature dishes to a crowd of eager dining enthusiasts. To put the icing on the cake, guests took home a goodie bag filled with More (cupcakes), PAMA or Hpnotiq liqueur, and gift coupons from Mark Shale apparel and N9NE restaurant.
