UCP’s 2012 Great Chefs Tasting Party raised a record setting $186,000 to support programs and services that help people with disabilities to lead a life without limits.

Nearly 40 of Chicago’s finest chefs prepared and served sweet and savory samples of everything from glazed octopus to sliced salumi to lemon buttermilk panna cotta with market strawberry, and Grand Marnier gelee. Our guests raved about the event and our participating chefs won enthusiastic new fans.

The VIP event took a new twist this year featuring ringside seats for a cook-off between headliner Executive Chef Jared Van Camp of Nellcôte and Chef Chris Pandel of the new Balena and The Bristol. Honorary Co-chair Steve Dolinsky, ABC7’s “Hungry Hound” emceed the cook off and served as a judge along with Grayson Schmitz, contestant on the recently completed “Top Chef” season and, David Gauger, one of our VIP guests. Sommelier Nate Meads of the new RM Champagne Salon provided champagne pairings for our VIP guests.
