The 16th Annual Great Chefs Tasting Party… Great event. Great cause. Great chefs. That was the recipe for the 16th annual Great Chefs Tasting Party™, benefiting United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Chicago. Mouthwatering grilled steaks, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, and heavenly chocolate truffles delighted the 900 guests who convened at the Sheraton Chicago, on May 30, 2008, to “Wine, Dine and Unwind” inside the ballroom and along the riverwalk.

Co-Chairs Steve Dolinsky of ABC 7 and Executive Chef Tom Kenny of Mike Ditka’s Restaurant gathered nearly 40 of Chicago’s “Great Chefs” to create a diverse menu that offered savories such as Risotto Crab Cake from Prosecco, Mini Filet Sandwiches from Gibsons, Tilipia Ceviche and Guacamole from Adobo Grill and Wild Mushroom Bruschetta from La Madia. The delectible desserts included mini cupcakes from Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique, Honey-Vanilla Caramels and Toasted Coconut Truffles from Katherine-Ann Confections, Champagne and Lemon Chello flavored Ice Cream from Capannari Ice Cream and Gourmet Toffee from SunRich International. Vin DiVino Wines, Bacardi, Miller, Grey Goose, and Fiji Waters kept the bar flowing with bountiful wines and signature cocktails.

Amidst the wining and dining, the silent auction also stirred up exitment with a V.I.P. Getaway to California’s Napa Valley, a Summit Weber Grill, (the exact replica of the prize awarded on Top Chef Chicago’s tailgate episode), custom dining experiences and sports tickets and memorabilia from across the city!

A record $100,000 was raised to benefit the children and adults served by United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Chicago.
