Great Chefs Tasting Party™ of Years Past...

 
   
 

Mouthwatering grilled steaks, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, and heavenly chocolate truffles delighted guests of the 15th Annual Great Chefs Tasting Party ™ held June 22, 2007. The savory event cooked up a landmark profit of $90,000. The 850 guests in attendance convened to “Wine, Dine and Unwind!” with a sparkling riverside view from the new Sheraton Riverwalk Ballroom, which provided ample room for additional guests and chefs.

Over 50 talented chefs stirred up a diverse menu that offered such delectables as the Smoked Duck Breast Crostini with Frisee and Blood Orange Salad compliments of Chef Lauren Piper from The Culinary School of Kendall College and the Grilled Wagyu Skirt Steak with Arugula, Raw Mushrooms, and Meyers Lemon Dressing prepared by Chef Doug D’Avico of Trattoria No. 10. The bountiful wines and flowing beverages were provided by the Mary Michelle Winery, Mike Ditka’s Label Wine, Bacardi, Miller, Korbel, Grey Goose, and Fiji Waters. The evening was completed with mini Key Lime pies, truffles, and even a waterfall of chocolate fondue for the Melting Pot’s Chocolate S’mores provided by Mark Ruffolo and Erv Emery.

Amidst the wining and dining, the silent auction took place and grossed more than $18,000. The auction featured exciting items like the luxurious Florida Keys Getaway, Bears game tickets, the Custom dinner for six at Mike Ditka’s Restaurant, a Weber Grill, and the Paris, Oh la la! Escape.

The 15th Annual Great Chefs Party ™ was a decisive success raising $91,000! Special thanks go out to the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers for their continued support.
