UCP Chicago’s first Board of Directors, headed by Hanna Lissner, set the pace for the organization’s energetic, enthusiastic and effective giving programs. In 1952, just a year after UCP’s launch, the board raised $400,000 with a telethon featuring comedian Bob Hope and legendary Chicago newspaper columnist Irv Kupcinet.

Today UCP continues to benefit from the dedication and inspiration of the influential community leaders serving on our Board of Directors.

UCP Women’s Board

Leonard Bernstein, the distinguished composer and conductor, and his New York Philharmonic Orchestra headlined the UCP Chicago Women’s Committee 1967 benefit, “Command Performance.” Today, the Women’s Board continues to orchestrate events, including the annual Gambol gala, that raise funds and build relationships for UCP.
